Apurimac Community Team

ACT helps to promote community cohesiveness and integration through the spirit of Forgiveness, Reconciliation, Dialogue, Trust and Confidence building at the grass root level with the help of its volunteers.

 

 

 

 

 

PEACE EDUCATION

Apurimac has trained 60 teachers across 6 local government areas in plateau state using local funds with the aim of supporting them to form peace clubs in their respective schools. Apurimac also held a 12 month program for 45 youths formerly used as foot soldiers in past conflict in 17 local government areas in the state. The training was spread across Jos North, Jos East, Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South local government areas. The training had the theme “Identification, Rehabilitation and Integration.”

 

STEPS ON MEDIATION

Apurimac has trainied a set of 120 youths from Jos North and Jos South Local government areas on the steps to mediation as peace ambassadors under the Apurimac community team (ACT) project. The aim of this training is to inculcate in youths skills in mitigating conflicts.
