Vocational Skills Development & Empowerment

From May 2009 to date Apurimac has been actively engage in the training of vulnerable women and youth in various vocational skills (Catering, Tailoring, ICT, Shoe Making, Knitting, Hair and Dressing). In our desire to confront the myriad challenges faced by women and youth in the country, Apurimac is engaged in the training of persons in the aforementioned skills. To actualize this good, Apurimac has established two (2) vocational skill acquisition centers both in Jos North and Jos South local government areas (LGAs) respectively. The center has trained five thousand seven hundred and forty three (5743) women and youth not just in the aforementioned skills but also in peace-building and conflict management. Each training session is for the duration of six (6) months (Jan-June, July-Dec). Each department always meets on monthly bases to share ideas of best practice aimed at promoting right relationship. The trainees at the last month of training undergo a business startup and investment training so as to know key ways to maximizing profit in business.

We also run a private/public educational library/resource centre to serve the educational and research needs of the people. Attached to the library is the E-Library with over 30,000 e-books and two million documents.

Our desire is to build a viable society were love rules the world.
